My Design Philosophy
Throughout this semester, I’ve designed games that teach, challenge, and immerse, and along the way, I’ve discovered the elements that truly resonate with me:
- Meaningful Choices: Whether linear, branching, or puzzle-driven, I strive to create decision-rich worlds where every player’s choice feels significant. I’ve found a special love for games that challenge the player’s mind while offering moments of self-reflection.
- Narrative Depth: I believe every game tells a story, even the simplest ones. I enjoy crafting branching narratives that feel alive, where the player’s journey unfolds in unexpected ways. Stories in my games aren't just narratives; they are immersive dialogues with the player.
- Systems with Purpose: I want players to engage with mechanics that mirror real-world systems, like commanding an immune system to fight off invaders in "Body Under Siege." My games aim to blend education with strategy, encouraging players to think critically while having fun.
